The great underlying instrumentation paired with Florence's droll stream of consciousness lyrics make this album stand out. It feels so personal and confessional. Favorite tracks are Strong Feelings and Leafy. I've heard Scratchard Lanyard on alt radio and love that one as well.

As a band, they were really doing something strange at the time by making music that sounded so resolutely like it came from the bedroom of a solo producer. "Vocals" are just snatches of floating sound, drums are often electronic... all the instruments sound electronic. They were clearly inspired by dub (who isn't) and started with stripped-down fragments, but then kept whittling down from there. Mood-wise they're bleak yet beautiful, like enjoying a solo walk in an industrial landscape.

Je me suis effondrée en larmes dès les premières notes de certaines chansons. Elle a perdu sa mère, j'ai perdu mon père. Album magnifique comme toute son œuvre! C'est son dernier album et j'espère qu'elle en créera d'autres!
